Material Quality
A36 = The most common used hot-rolled carbon constructional steel is A36. It is easy to weld and has a minimum yield strength of 36k psi. Used in multiple applications like bridges, buildings, marine applications, and other structures where welding is used.
1018 CS = 1018 CS s a commonly found and frequently used grade of steel for carbon steel sheet. Its mechanical properties are not very unique, it is easily formed, machined, welded, and fabricated. It is often used in products where surface finish is not important, like drilling equipment.
1018 Grade 50 = 1018 Grade 50 carbon steel sheet is an improved high strength-low alloy sheet where high strength to weight ratio is needed to produce products which are stronger yet lighter then say an A36 or similar steel.
A1008 CS = A1008 CS carbon steel sheet is an excellent sheet material for most processing techniques with good formability. This cold rolled, low carbon, high strength steel alloy is used for everything from appliances to stamped automobile parts. Typically A1008 comes with a thin layer of oil to prevent rust.
